Nitronic-60 is an austenitic stainless steel alloy that performs admirably in a wide range of industrial and commercial applications.

Even at extremely high temperatures of up to 1796 degrees Fahrenheit, the alloy exhibits excellent mechanical properties. The corrosion characteristics of 304 and 316 are similar. The yield of 304 is twice as high as that of 316. The addition of silicon and manganese to the material improves its abrasion and wear resistance. Nitronic-60 is frequently used in the manufacture of fasteners and valves.

Machinability & Welding

Nitronic 60 is easily welded using any conventional process that is available. However, It is hard to machine, with a machinability rating of 50% of 304 and 23%. And, powerful machines are recommended to use, with heavy cuts and slow speeds being utilized in conjunction.
